About Stew Hanley
Stew Hanley is a novelist and playwright from the northeastern United States whose passion for storytelling led him to writing later in life. He began his creative journey writing for the stage before turning to novels, where he discovered the freedom to explore bigger worlds, deeper characters, and stories unconstrained by the limits of a theater set.
Drawn to compelling characters and difficult moral choices, Stew writes across multiple genres saying he has a genre-agnostic imagination. Whether crafting historical fiction, thrillers, mysteries, or contemporary drama, he follows the story wherever it leads—whichever way the wind blows.
A lifelong student of history, Hanley enjoys uncovering the people and events that have shaped the world, and that fascination often finds its way into his fiction. His work blends emotional depth with page-turning storytelling, exploring themes of loyalty, sacrifice, redemption, and the unexpected consequences of ordinary decisions.
When he's not writing, Stew is usually researching his next project, studying history, or imagining the next story waiting to be told.
